General Partner’s Distribution (SF.IS.GeneralPartnersDistributions) refers to earnings which are distributed to general unlimited partners. A limited partner is personally responsible for the debts of the partnership to the extent of his/her investment done in the partnership and has no voice in the management of the company (the equivalent of a common shareholder). An unlimited partner is engaged in the management of the company and he has unlimited legal responsibility for the debts and liabilities of the partnership.
Values in General Partner’s Distributions (SF.IS.GeneralPartnersDistributions) reduce net income which is available to common shareholders for computation of EPS.
General Partners’ Distribution (SF.IS.GeneralPartnersDistributions) does not include:
- Dividends to preferred stocks (classified as Preferred Dividends (SF.IS.PreferredDividends))
- Distribution to limited partners (classified as Gross Dividends – Common Stock (SF.IS.GrossDiv_CommonStock))
- Other adjustments to earnings for EPS computation (classified as Miscellaneous Earnings Adjustment (SF.IS.MiscEarningsAdjustment))
