Microsoft Teams Integration

Following our integration with Slack in February 2021, the integration between Sentieo and Microsoft Teams continues our effort to leverage our platform with popular cloud storage and internal communication and collaboration tools. In this integration, we bring your Sentieo files and Teams conversations together to enable you to seamlessly share and discuss your Sentieo work directly in Teams.

Connect Sentieo and Teams

There are two ways you can connect Sentieo and Teams:

  1. In Sentieo, send notes and documents to Teams.
  2. In Teams, find notes and documents from Sentieo.

1. Integration in Sentieo

Set up Teams App in Sentieo

If you are the first person in your organization to allow Sentieo to access your Teams data, then you will need to request for Sentieo to be approved by your organization’s Microsoft administrator.

To submit an approval request to add the Teams app in Sentieo:

  1. Go to the Integrations page.

  1. Click on Enable Syncing next to the Microsoft Teams Integration option. This should prompt a Microsoft pop-up to open up.

  1. Click on Request approval to submit a request to your organization’s Microsoft administrator. This will send them a notification with options to approve or restrict the app for the organization.

 

Once the app is approved, you need to connect your Sentieo account to Teams. You can do this via three places:

  1. Settings

  1. a Note

  1. a Document

 

In each, a dialog box will appear to confirm that you want to connect to Microsoft Teams.

  1. Click Yes to be taken to Microsoft’s authentication page.
  2. Sign into your Microsoft account.

Once Teams is authorized and connected, the web browser will refresh and take you back to Sentieo.

Send a Note or Document from Sentieo

To send a note:

  1. Open the note you would like to send.
  2. Click on the three vertical dots.
  3. Select Send to Teams in the dropdown menu.

 

To send a document:

  1. Open the document you would like to send.
  2. Click on the three horizontal dots.
  3. Select Send to Teams in the dropdown menu.

 

Once you have selected the note or document, a dialog box will appear.

  1. Search for and select the team, channel, or user you want to send the note or document to.
  2. Write an optional message to be sent alongside the note or document.
  3. Click Send.

 

The note or document will then be sent to the selected team, channel, or user with the following information:

  • Title
  • Author, for Notes only
  • Updated Date & Time, for Notes only
  • Filing Date, for Documents only
  • Tickers
  • Tags
  • Preview, for Notes only

2. Integration in Teams

Set Up Sentieo App in Teams

To install the Sentieo App in Teams:

  1. Click on Apps in the left sidebar to open the Apps page.
  2. Search for and select the “Sentieo” app.
  3. Click Add.

 

To sign into Sentieo in Teams:

  1. Click on the Sentieo app icon.

Note: If you do not see the Sentieo app icon, click on the three horizontal dots to search for and select the Sentieo app from the list of installed apps.

  1. Begin typing in the search box to be prompted to sign into Sentieo.

  1. Click sign in to be taken to Sentieo’s authentication page.
  2. Sign into your Sentieo account.

Once Sentieo is authorized and connected, Sentieo’s authentication page will close and take you back to the Teams screen to see the relevant search results.

Search and Share a Note or Document in Teams

You can search for and share notes and documents in Teams via three places:

  1. the Sentieo App
  2. the Message Box
  3. the Search Bar

 

In each, you can:

  • search for tickers by adding “$” as a prefix
  • filter your Sentieo notes and documents based on the following categories
    • All Notes
    • All Documents
    • Filings
    • Transcripts
    • Presentations
    • Press Releases
    • Research Reports
    • News
    • Other Documents, which includes:
      • RSS Feeds
      • Twitter Feeds
      • Regulatory Filings
      • Professional Journals
      • EMMA
      • ESG
  • add an optional message before sharing the note or document

  • preview a note’s content without opening Sentieo by clicking on Preview

Note: You may be prompted to sign into Sentieo if you are not already signed in through your browser.

1. Sharing via the Sentieo App

To share a note or document via the Sentieo app, click on the Sentieo app icon to begin your search.

Clicking on the search result will load the file into the message box where you can add an optional message before sharing.

2. Sharing via the Message Box

To share a note or document via the message box, type “@sentieo” into the message box to begin your search.

Clicking on the search result will load the file into the message box where you can add an optional message before sharing.

To share a note or document via the search bar, type “@sentieo” into the search bar to begin your search.

Clicking on the search result will give you an option to copy the file to paste into the message box where you can add an optional message before sharing.
