Sentieo’s Smart Summary for Earnings Transcripts provides a consistent, numerical interpretation of earnings call sentiment and trending topics through time and across peers. With Smart Summary for Uploaded Text you can use our sentiment model on your own documents.
With a few clicks you can upload any text document, run it through our NLP pipeline and generate the Smart Summary content. From overall sentiment down to category and keyword sentiment to the NLP heatmap and the positive/negative text overlay you have complete visibility into how our model interprets your text.
Uploading Your Text
You can generate a Smart Summary for any plain text file. We recommend Microsoft Word documents (.docx, .doc), but any plain text (.txt) or HTML (.html) document can be processed.
To upload your file go to the hamburger menu in Document Search and select Upload Content.
Drag your file into the window to upload. Adding a ticker will automatically append the output to a company’s NLP Heatmap.
Your uploaded document will be available as an Attachment Note in Document Search. To generate the Smart Summary open the document and click RUN on the Smart Summary icon on the right menu bar. You will get a notification under the bell when the Smart Summary is ready.
Clicking the notification will open your document in a new tab. The Smart Summary panel is populated with data based on the uploaded document. Click the icon in the upper right to open the NLP Heatmap, or click the +/- icon in the right menu to see the sentiment overlay.
Stringing Uploaded Text and Sentieo Transcripts Together in a Custom NLP Heatmap
You can now string multiple documents of your choice together in an NLP Heatmap.
Open the NLP Heatmap tab and enter a ticker. In Time Series mode you will see Add Doc ID in the upper right. You can add doc ids for any docs that have a Smart Summary. You can find the doc id in the … menu in the doc viewer.
