Available Views

The single company time series view summarizes a company’s last eight quarters of transcripts and adds a column for the relevant GICS sub-industry in the current quarter.

To view a time series for a sub-industry click the sector column header in the company or watchlist view.

For a watchlist we display up to 25 companies and the most common sub-industry in the list.  You can add additional sub-industries via the dropdown.

Snippet Drill Down

Clicking on a cell for an individual company will display the underlying snippets with a summary of mentions and sentiment over the last eight quarters for context.  Snippets are tagged with topics provided above the list for easy filtering.

Clicking on a cell for a sub-industry will run the query over the relevant transcripts and display the results in Document Search.

Interpreting the Data

The column header refers to the calendar quarter.  The Trending Topics are drawn from the earnings call that took place during that quarter.  The entire transcript is analyzed including the prepared remarks and the Q&A.

Trending Topics employs Sentieo’s synonym library as well as the underlying categorizations used in the Smart Summary to group similar words and phrases.

Columns are sorted according to our algorithm.  The algo is driven by the absolute number of mentions, but also incorporates deviations from the norm in both number of mentions and sentiment.

Words are color coded based on sentiment.  Green is positive and red is negative.  Black is neutral.

Table Tips and Tricks

• Copy/Paste: Highlight the cells you wish to copy and do CTRL + C.  The  column headers will be included with the paste CTRL + V.
• Reorder columns: Click on the column header then drag and drop the column to a new location
• Resize columns: Hover over the right cell border of the column header and slide to make the column wider or narrower
